DescriptionRectangular, heavy, green-tinted Chinese export porcelain sauce tureen with hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue decoration showing a Chinese landscape. The central Chinese landscape consists of a willow tree with a Chinese structure and fenced-in yard to the right. The tree overlooks a small figure fishing in a river, where a Chinese junk floats. There are houses and hills in the distance. This landscape is found hand-painted on both long sides of the sauce tureen. The sauce tureen also has two molded and applied handles, painted in cobalt blue, in the shape of an animal head. At one time these handles also held metal rings, however, the slots to hold the rings are now empty.
The sauce tureen is missing its lid. It has two chips in the rim.
