DescriptionHexagonal, porcelain cream pitcher with gilded decoration. Part of a large group of white and gold teawares made of a white ceramic, porcelain in most cases, with gilding as the only decoration. The group consists of one large teapot (.1a,b), one smaller teapot (.2a,b), two cream pitchers (.3 and .4), one slop bowl (.5), two teacups (.6 and .7), five teacup saucers (.8,-.12), four coffee cups (.13-.16), and four coffee cup saucers (.17-.20). The group continues with ten plates in three different sizes (.21-.30), five small plates (.31-.35), one saucer (.36), two compotes (.37-.38), three lidded dishes (.39a-c-.41a-c), one pitcher (.42), one dish (.43), and a lid (.44).

The cream pitcher sits on a six-sided foot. It has swelled sides, a narrow neck, and a slightly wider rim. There are bands of gilding at the foot, neck, and rim. The cream pitcher has a molded and applied handle, possibly gilded at one time, and a spout that retains much of its original gilding. Imperfections in the porcelain appear as black dots on the inside of the rim. A large area of porcelain has broken off the rim and side of the spout. Much of the gilding is worn on the cream pitcher, specifically at the foot, rim, spout, and handle.
