The plate has a central, circular design showing a Native American exchanging textiles with a European in a Pilgrim-style hat and costume. The next design shows a two-story wooden home and is titled, "JOSEPH ARNOLD, ONE OF THE/ FIRST SETTLERS OF HADDAM, BUILT/ THE ORIGINAL PORTION OF THIS/ HOUSE IN HADDAM." After this is a design showing a bridge, a body of water, and a tall structure on the far shore. This scene is titled, "CROSSING THE CONNECTICUT/ RIVER AND VIEW OF GOODSPEED/ OPERA HOUSE." Next is a two-story stone building with a projecting portico, titled, "BRAINERD ACADEMY - BUILT IN 1837/ NOW HOUSES TOWN HALL, MASONS, AND EASTERN/ STAR". After this is an image of a sailing ship with three masts titled, "THE TYPE OF SCHOONER/ BUILT IN HIGGANUM/ SHIPYARDS".
