DescriptionRound, hard paste porcelain teacup (.a) with gilding and hand-painted overglaze enamels in green, gold, light purple, and blue. There is a slightly raised decoration in the shape of scrolls decorating the rim and sides. The applied decoration is divided into two horizontal sections by a gilded border running around the middle of the teacup. This border consists of a solid line above a scalloped line. Between the scallops are diamond-shapes which connect to short vertical lines that descend below the scalloped line. Below this border, yellow, blue, pink, and light purple flowers are hand-painted on green vines. A thin line of gilding is applied to the foot of the teacup. Above the border, the teacup is painted green; the enamel fades from darker green at the rim to a lighter green near the border. Gilded flowers are hand-painted on top of the green enamel. There is a line of gilding applied at the rim, with a dusting of gilding falling about one eighth of an inch down the inside and outside of the rim. Finally, the teacup has a gilded, molded and applied handle.

The accompanying saucer (.b) was not located at the time of cataloging.
