DescriptionRound dinner plate or cream-colored earthenware, a type of ceramic known as creamware. The plate is decorated with a transfer-printed landscape and border in black enamel. The landscape shows a sailboat on a river, with classically-inspired structures on the left and distant banks. An arched building with a sculpture on the frieze is on the bank to the left, while a domed building with sculpture on the frieze is located in the right distance. Trees and flowers have grown up in the land around the structures. The landscape is surrounded by a delicate border consisting of a scalloped line and flowers. A border of small scrolls and large flowers covers the rim and spills down onto the plate.
There is light crazing and dirt accumulation throughout the surface of the plate.
