DescriptionPortraits of the artist Nelson Augustus Moore. One is a photograph of an oil painting made when Moore was a young man. Other photographic studio portraits show Moore as an elderly man with white hair and a mustache, wearing a coat, shirt, and bow tie. Additional photographs show him in the interior of a room with a folding chair, a hanging lamp, and Venetian blinds at the windows. Others show him painting outdoors, seated on a folding stool, holding a paint box on his lap. In some he holds a paintbrush and palette. In one he wears a straw hat. Four were taken at the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York, and show him on a path beside a lake and beneath an umbrella or a thatched gazebo. In one photograph, he is seated with his wife and other people on the porch of the Fort William Henry Hotel, overlooking Lake George.
