DescriptionStore interiors feature glass display cases and cabinets. Merchandise displayed includes cigar boxes full of cigars, fishing rods, scissors, cocktail shakers, tennis rackets, trowels, hatchets, axes, mallets, drills, and other tools. Electric light switches and fixtures and a cash register are visible. Decorations include stuffed moose and deer heads and potted palms. Pipes with what appears to be a sprinkler system run along the ceiling. A sign reads, "Tools that / should be in / Every Home"; a box reads, "THE JUNIOR DRAFTSMAN / instructive & entertaining".
NotesSubject Note: L.S. Knoek & Co. was a hardware store located at 188-194 State Street, Hartford. They sold tools, builders hardware, firearms, contractors supplies, marine hardware, auto accessories, cutlery, and camp outfits. The Hotel Bond was located at 320 Asylum Street in Hartford.
