DescriptionOctagonal, white, porcelain teacup teacup (.a) and ten-sided saucer (.b) with decoration in underglaze black decoration and overglaze gilding and enamels in pink, green, red, and blue. The decoration for the teacup begins at the bottom with a band of black and white decoration that is outlined in gold and interrupted three times by an area of white and gold. Groups of green and brown plants and pink and blue flowers emerge from this band of black and white decoration. The inside of the rim is decorated with a gold and white geometric border, and there are clusters of green leaves and pink flowers on the inside of the sides and bottom of the teacup. There is crazing over all the surfaces of the teacup.
The same decorative motifs are found on the saucer, beginning with a group of green and brown plants and pink and blue flowers in the center. This is surrounded by a band of black and white decoration that is outlined in gold and interrupted three times by an area of white and gold. Surrounding this are groups of pink flowers and green leaves, followed by a gold and white geometric border at the rim. A small group of hairline cracks or crazing are beginning on the saucer.
