DescriptionRectangular, buff-colored earthenware teapot with a blue tinted lead glaze, a type of ceramic known as pearlware, and a transfer-printed underglaze cobalt blue decoration. The overall transfer-printed pattern consists of a field of blue with baskets and urns, flowers, scrolls, and leaves. The teapot (.a) has a spout that was formed from two molded parts and decorated with transfer-printed flowers. The handle was formed using a mold before being decorated with transfer-printed flowers. The lid (.b) of the teapot has a similar version of the same overall pattern transfer-printed at the rim, and a small molded finial in the shape of a flower applied at the top.
There is a small chip at the corner of the lid and three small chips where the lid meets the rim of the teapot. The foot of the teapot has a chip at one corner.
