DescriptionA man and several women sit or stand in the interiors of various rooms, including a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. One woman sits in an upholstered armchair with antimacassars on the arms and back, listening to a radio in a wooden cabinet. In another image, she is seated at a typewriter, while an older woman beside her holds a white cat. Patterned wallpaper is on the walls in both pictures. Other photographs show a bathtub, shower, and sink, a washing machine with a wringer, a stove, a refrigerator, and kitchen cabinets. Some women wear aprons. A man wears eyeglasses and smokes a cigar.
NotesSubject Note: The donor indentified the people in the photographs as Lisbeth and Herman Heinrich Schaber and Lisbeth's mother, Lina Langenberg. Another woman may be Lisbeth's sister Clara. (Finlay 7/12/2004)
