DescriptionThe top of a large oak tree lies on the ground at the right. The trunk is suspended in midair, supported by the upper branches. The huge broken stump is at the left. Additional large broken branches lie beside the tree. A man and a woman stand at the left beside the stump. A second man and a young girl stand to the right of the stump. A third man and two women stand at the far right. A crowd of additional people stand behind a picket fence in the background. The top gable of a house with two chimneys is just visible beyond dense trees in the distance.
