DescriptionGirl's sleeveless dress made of red and green plaid cotton. The top front yoke is cut on the bias and lined with the same fabric cut on the straight of grain. The front bodice insert is smocked in six rows about an inch apart, using thick white and forest green cotton thread. The seams joining the smocked section to the yoke and skirt are piped in the same fabric. The bodice back is cut on the straight, as is its self-fabric lining. The center back opening closes with five white plastic pearlized buttons. The opening goes past the waist seam two inches into the skirt, where there is a continuous placket. The skirt is gathered at the waist and is cut in one piece, the seam being at the center back. The skirt has a nylon tulle crinoline attached at the waist with twill-woven cotton tape for reenforcement. It is cut in two pieces with sideseams and is about four inches shorter than the skirt. On both sideseams at the waist seam are sewn two long ties for tying at the back. Some raw edges are finished with a serged edge.
