DescriptionView of the Hartford skyline from the east bank of the Connecticut River. The covered bridge across the river is at the right. Numerous sailing vessels and two steamboats line the waterfront. Inscriptions identify "South Ch[urch]" "Center Ch[urch]" "Court House" (The Old State House), "Free Ch[urch]" "Baptist [Church]" "Catholic [Church]" and North Ch[urch]" A factory smokestack appears to the left of the spire of Center Church.
