DescriptionMen in overcoats and top hats stand on a platform surrounded by a crowd of spectators. Many of these other men wear bowler hats. Several horse-drawn carriages attempt to make their way through the crowd. The speakers' platform is decorated with flags, including American flags and the flags of various nations, such as Turkey and France. The Connecticut state seal and the Great Seal of the United States are also displayed. Additional spectators crowd the balcony of the Old State House in the left background. The south side of Central Row is in the right background.
