DescriptionA young boy sits on a grassy hillside. He wears what appears to be a velvet jacket, a vest, a collar of eyelet lace, and pants. His right hand rests on the back of his head; his left lies on the grass at his side. A beaked cap lies upside down at the left. A rose bush with three flowers on it is in the right foreground. Leafy plants are in the left foreground. A large rock with a bush growing above it is in the background.
NotesSubject Note: The composition is based on Sir Thomas Lawrence's portrait of Master Charles William Lambton, 1825. (Finlay 3/28/2007)
