DescriptionTwo stagecoaches, each drawn by four horses, collide on a dirt road. The smaller coach, on the right, is crashing through a low rail fence and tilting towards a small pond at the left. Men and women are falling off the roof of the coach. Two small boys are looking out the window. The coachman is sliding towards the right as he holds the whip and reins. The second, larger coach is passing the first coach on the left. All of the passengers are looking at the first coach and one man is waving his top hat. A huge cloud of dust is behind the vehicles. Three ducks fly up from the pond. A house and a large building, which appears to be a factory, are on the far side of the road. Three people with raised arms stand in front of the house, behind a gate in a picket fence. Vines grow on the house. Dense trees are in the yard. The road winds up a barren hill in the background. A third coach and a man on horseback are on the road. Three windmills, scattered trees, and several other buildings, probably farm buildings, are on the hill.
