DescriptionA young woman stand beside a fence made of logs lashed together. She wears a blouse with a peplum over a long skirt. With her left hand, she supports a young child who is standing on top of the fence. The child is wearing an undershirt or nightshirt, is barefoot, and holds a stick. A mongrel dog stands in front of the woman and looks up at the stick. A large bouquet of roses rests on the fence at the right. A body of water, presumably a lake or pond, is in the foreground. Grass grows at the left. Bushes and trees are at the right and in the left background. A large country house with a square tower and a balcony is also in the left background.
