DescriptionA man and a woman stand at the left, facing a marble monument with a high rectangular base surmounted by an urn or lamp. The man wears a coat with wide lapels, a shirt, a necktie, and trousers. He holds a top hat in his right hand. He has a beard. The woman wears a bonnet and a black dress with a V-shaped waistline and a lace collar and cuffs. She holds a handkerchief in her left hand. Her right hand rests on the man's left arm. The monument is inscribed: "IN / MEMORY / OF". A willow tree, its trunk entwined with ivy, arches overhead. Flowers, including roses, grow in the foreground and behind the monument. Additional gravestones, willow trees, and a Gothic church are in the left background.
