DescriptionA small boy sits on a toy hobby horse on a wheeled platform. The hobby horse has a fringed saddle blanket and a bridle decorated with a rosette. The boy holds the reins in his hands. He is wearing a smock, a long-sleeved shirt, pantaloons, and shoes with a scalloped button closure. A small girl stands in front of the hobby horse. She wears a dress, pantalets, buttoned shoes, and a broad-brimmed straw hat, decorated with flowers and tied with a ribbon. She holds a twig switch in her right hand. Vines grow on a wall or pedestal of dressed stone in the left background. An urn filled with flowers and leaves is on the wall. Flowers, possibly hollyhocks, grow in the right background, with a large tree beyond. A grassy lawn is in the right foreground.
