DescriptionA young man leans behind a young woman and kisses her on the cheek. He is wearing a jacket, vest, and striped trousers and holds a straw hat in his left hand. His right hand is around the girl's waist. She wears a dress with a wide neckline trimmed with lace and an apron. Her sleeves are rolled up. She holds a shallow pan, apparently containing milk, with both hands. Some of the milk spills out the left side of the pan. An elderly woman stands in a doorway in the right background. She wears a cap, shawl, and eyeglasses and holds a handkerchief in her left hand. A jug is on a table at the far left. A cupboard with six shelves is built into the wall in the left background. Additional pans, jugs, bottles, and other containers are on the shelves. A wicker basket is on the top shelf. A framed print, possibly another Kellogg lithograph, is on the wall in the background. It depicts a man scaling a wall to reach the window of a woman. A second man with a pitchfork is behind him.
