DescriptionA two-masted sailing vessel is sailing towards the right. A square blue flag flies from the mainmast; an American flag flies from the end of the yard. A man stands at the wheel. Additional men stand nearby. A vessel with both sails and a smokestack is in the right background, sailing in the opposite direction.
NotesDate Note: The Yacht Henrietta was built in 1861 for James Gordon Bennett. She served as a revenue cutter from 1861-1862. In December 1866 she won a trans-Atlantic race with the yachts Fleetwing and Vesta. This print commemorates that event. (Finlay 8/22/2006)
