DescriptionA three-masted warship is facing left. Small figures of men are visible on deck, on the bowsprint, on the ratlines, and on the yardarms, presumably in the act of unfurling the sails. Thirty-two cannons are visible through the gunports, which are arranged in three levels. Flags and pennants fly from the masts. A figurehead carved to represent the Duke of Wellington is on the prow of the ship. Numerous small sailboats are in the choppy water around the ship. People crowd the decks of a small steamboat at the far right.
