DescriptionSpiral-bound album containing photographs and clippings documenting storm damage from the Hurricane of 1938. Locations include Fern Street, Walbridge Road, Farmington Avenue and Prospect Avenue in Hartford and West Hartford, with views of the Heublein House and Goodwin Mansion. Views in downtown Hartford include State Street, Ford Street, and views of the flood waters from the roof of the Industrial Building. Many photographs show fallen trees. Other towns include Middletown, Essex, New London, Groton and Madison. Grounded and wrecked vessels include Fish Hawk, Albatross and Tulip. Wrecked yachts include Leeway II, Mink, Chantey and Coquette. Shenecossett Beach and Shenecossett Yacht Club are shown in before and after pictures.
