DescriptionView of Russell Cheney painting on a porch. He is standing and leaning forward to paint on an easel. He is wearing a light colored shirt, pants, and shoes, with a dark tie and jacket. He is holding an artist's palette. The easel is set up at the top of a set of steps, which lead down to the ground. There is a screen door to the left of the easel. The porch appears to wrap around the side of the house to the left, and at the corner there is a table and chair. To the right of the easel, behind Russell, there is a swing bench hanging from the roof of the porch.
