DescriptionA young boy dressed in plaid is seated on the ground at the foot of a large tree. He wears a short dress, a fringed scarf attached with a large round pin on his right shoulder, a Scottish bonnet or tam 'shanter, plaid stockings with garters, and shoes with buckles. A large, shaggy black and white dog lies at the right, with his left paw in the boy's lap. A grassy field is in the right background with additional trees and a mountain in the distance.
