DescriptionA small boy is seated on grassy slope. He wears a short velvet jacket and pants. A ruffled collar is around his neck, and laced shoes are on his feet. He holds a flower, apparently a poppy, above his head with his right hand. He holds leaves in his left hand. A young girl stands below him, with her left arm around his waist. She wears a dress with a gathered neckline and a bow on each shoulder. She holds up her apron with both hands, so that it rests in the boy's lap. It is full of flowers, including roses. Additional flowers spill down the bank at the left. Flowers and grass are in the right foreground. A vine arches overhead.
