DescriptionA large group of people are gathered beneath a large tree. At the left, Native Americans wearing loincloths, cloaks, and feather headdresses look on as Englishmen in tricorne hats, coats, vests, breeches, hose, and shoes with buckles display what appears to be a map and a bolt of cloth. One Native American man holds a long pipe. One Englishman leans on a cane. Two Native American women, one with an infant on a cradle board, are in the left foreground. A bow and a quiver of arrows lie nearby. Other Native Americans, including a man shooting a bow, are in the left background. A young man who appears to be wearing partial body armor is seated on trunks or boxes in the right foreground. Another young man leans on the boxes. Other men carry similar boxes up a slope in the right background. A boat and three three-masted ships are in the distance. Three buildings with tall chimneys are at the left.
