DescriptionA man lies on the ground while a large striped cat, possibly a tiger, bites him in the thigh and digs its claws into his side and leg. He wears a jacket, shirt, sash, pants, and sandals, and he has a mustache and sideburns. He holds a long knife or dagger in his right hand. A long thin rope appears to be tangled in the cat's hind legs. A horse with a saddle, bridle, and a large coil of rope on its withers is in the left background. Leafy plants and flowers grow in the foreground. Rocks, trees, and open grassy slopes are in the background. A lake or pond is in the right background.
