DescriptionTwo women and a man sit on a rocky hill in the foreground. A second man stands nearby. They look out over a large city on a harbor with Long Island Sound beyond. A river winds through marshes in the left foreground. A train crosses the river on a railroad bridge. Three other bridges cross the river. Fields are to the right. Houses and other buildings line the city streets. Many streets are lined with trees. Church steeples and towers are scattered throughout the city. The smokestacks of a few factories are chiefly at the left, near the river. Wharves line the harbor, and a long wharf extends out into the harbor. Many sailing vessels are at the wharves or anchored in the harbor. A lighthouse is on a point in the left background. Wooded hills are in the right background.
