They are, from left to right: Sara Amory Cheney (1875-1959), Edward Amory Cheney (1918-1971), Hope Amory Cheney (1913-1940), Amory Cheney (1909-1999), Rosalie Amory Cheney (1906-1999), Frank Dexter Cheney, Jr. (1905-1991) and probably Frank Dexter Cheney, Sr. (1878-1955). They are all wearing winter clothing. Sara is wearing a fur coat and skirt while everyone else is wearing pants and jackets. All but Sara are holding ski poles. There are two dogs in front of Hope. There are large coniferous trees in the background with snow-laden branches that are drooping towards the ground.
