The people seated on the rock are, from left to right: possibly Louis Richmond Cheney (1859-1944), an unidentified woman, Harriet Bowen Cheney (1867-1938), possibly Robert Cheney (1859-1935), possibly Harry Grant Cheney (1852-1918), Elizabeth "Bess" Cheney (1865-1898) and Helen Cheney (1868-1937). Frank Cheney, Jr. (1860-1957) is seated at bottom right.
NotesDate note: Estimate based on life dates and approximate age of subjects in photograph. Cataloging worksheet in object file gives date as circa 1887. Cataloging worksheet also indicates that the man seated between Harriet and Elizabeth may be Edward Moyle Cheney (1862-1888).
