DescriptionThree-quarter-length view of a woman seated at a table drinking tea. She wears a long, striped dressing gown, with ruffles on the sleeves and front opening. Her jewelry includes a bracelet on her right wrist, a pair of rings on her right hand, and earrings. She holds a teacup, with what appears to be a Chinese pattern on it, in her right hand. She holds her wrapper closed with her left hand and looks back over her shoulder to the right. Her right elbow rests on the table, which is covered with a tablecloth. A spoon rests in a shallow bowl, apparently with a Chinese design on it. The chair appears to have a leather or upholstered back, attached with brass tacks.
