The one on the far left, sitting on the arm of an armchair, is George Wells Cheney, Sr. There are three unidentified men standing to his right and two more sitting in front of them. Two of the men in the back row are wearing bowties. The two in front are both wearing neckties. The third man from the left, in the back, is holding a pipe, and the two in front have pipes in their mouths. There are a few photographs on the walls in the background.
