His hands are folded in front of him and there is a cigarette in his mouth. George appears to be a teenager or young man. He is wearing a dark suit and tie, with dark socks and shoes. His right leg is bent up and resting on his left knee and his hands are resting in his lap.

Louis Richmond Cheney was a brother of George's father, Wells Wadsworth Cheney. Louis served as mayor of Hartford from 1912-1914. George was the only child of Wells and Lucy Compton Street.
