The Cheney Homestead was built in the 1770s or 1780s by clock maker Timothy Cheney. It was located in Orford Parish, later known as South Manchester. Timothy's son George (who also lived in the house) had eight sons and one daughter. Several of the sons established the Cheney Brothers silk business. The homestead is located at 106 Hartford Road in Manchester, Connecticut and is owned by the Manchester Historical Society.
