DescriptionView of the drawing room at Philip Cheney's house in South Manchester, Connecticut, after renovation in the 1920s. The floor appears to be made of strips of wood and has a diagonal, striped pattern to it. There are several tables and chairs in the foreground. There is a grand piano in the back left corner, with a large vase of flowers sitting on top of it. There is a fireplace in the middle of the back wall. There are bookshelves built into the wall to the left of it and there is an open doorway to the right. A large portrait of Knight Dexter Cheney, Sr. is centered above it. A tall candelabra stands on either side of the fireplace. The walls of the room are covered in molded wood paneling and there is crown molding along the ceiling.
NotesDate note: Cataloging worksheet in object file gives date as circa 1930's.

Cataloging worksheet in object file states: "House formerly belonged to Knight Dexter, Philip's father, and was renovated by Helen after their marriage, except for the living room."

Philip married Helen Campbell in 1920.
