DescriptionTwo women and a man stand at the right. The women are facing a large monument with a rectangular base surmounted by an urn. Both women wear dark dresses and shawls. The elderly woman at the left wears a bonnet. The younger woman at the right holds her bonnet in her left hand. She wears a pendant earring. The man wears a coat, vest, shirt, stock, pants, and top hat. He holds a closed umbrella in his left hand. His right hand is inside his coat. A bush with roses on it is to the right of the monument, and a weeping willow arches over it. Grass and leafy plants grow in the foreground. A broad, grassy field with a few scattered trees is in the background. A church, houses, and other buildings, comprising a small town, are in the right background. Low hills are in the distance.
