DescriptionA square laminated press badge issued to Frank Lorenzo for the U.S.G.F. [U.S. Gymnastics Federation] International Invitational at the Hartford Civic Center in August 1980. The badge is made of yellow paper with black text. It has a string lanyard, which somes wear from use.
NotesSubject Note: The 1980 USGF (U.S. Gymnastics Federation) International Invitational held at the Hartford Civic Center was the alternate Olympic competition for gymnastics, after President Jimmy Carter decided the United States would boycott the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, Soviet Union. After President Carter called for the Olympic boycott, the U.S. government organized alternate Olympic-level competitions for each of the sports. The event featured gymnasts from Canada, China, Federal Republic of Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, and the USA.
