DescriptionA woman wearing a black dress, a shawl decorated with fringe, gloves, and a bonnet, stands at the right. A large marble monument with a rectangular base surmounted by an urn or lamp is at the left. The base is inscribed: "IN / MEMORY / OF". Flowers, including roses, grow in the left foreground. Ivy grows on the wall of a church, which is partially visible at the right. The church has quoins at the corners, a round arched window, and an oval window in the corner of the gable. A weeping willow tree at the left arches over the monument. Other gravestones are in a cemetery in the left background. A lake or river and a hill or mountain are in the distance.
