NotesDate note: Ward Cheney enlisted in the army in April of 1898 and went with his regiment to train at Camp Alger in Virginia. He departed for the Philippines in January of 1899 and died while overseas. This photograph was probably taken in the second half of 1898. Cataloging worksheet in object file gives date as circa 1899.
