DescriptionView of William Coates Cheney and his dog, Kenty, indoors. The room they are in has a wooden floor in a fishbone pattern. The floor is partly covered by a large oriental rug. William is sitting on a wicker stool or overturned basket. He is wearing a three-piece suit with a white shirt and dark tie. His forehead is wrinkled. William is looking down and scratching under Kenty's chin. Kenty is standing and wresting his head in William's lap. There is a hallway behind them, on the right.

Cataloging worksheet in object file states the following: "William Coates Cheney worked for Cheney B[r]others most of his life. He served in the House of Representatives and the Senate. He was the president of the Connecticut state prison board for twenty years and a member of the Governor's Foot Guard."
