DescriptionHalf length studio portrait of Ruth Cheney as a young girl. She is standing behind a piece of carved furniture, with her hands folded and resting on top of it. She is looking to the left of the camera. Ruth is wearing a white dress that has long sleeves and a slight ruffle at the cuffs and collar. Her hair is pulled into a bun at the top of her head but short, curly pieces are sticking out around her temples and at the nape of her neck.
The edges of the carte-de-visite are gilt.
