DescriptionHalf length studio portrait of Helen Campbell Cheney. It may be a wedding photograph. Helen is standing in front of a background that has trees painted on it. She is wearing a silk dress that crosses across the front to form a deep v-neck. There is a gauze underlayer that also crosses and forms a "v", slightly shallower than the first. Helen's hair is pulled back in a gibson-style updo with a small twist in the middle of her forehead.
NotesDate note: Estimate based on life dates and approximate age of subject in photograph. Also, Helen's dress could be a wedding gown, and she was married in 1920. According to cataloging worksheet in object file, Helen Campbell and Philip Cheney were married after a twenty year courtship.
