He is leaning against the base of a column at the top of the bannister. In the background a woman leans against a second column. George is wearing a jacket, skirt, stockings and tall, buttoned shoes. There is a hat on his head and a large white bow or collar under his chin. George's hair is styled in long ringlets that reach a little past his shoulders. There are a few trees and a house visible in the background.
