DescriptionA two-story frame house is surrounded by a high stone retaining wall. Windows have louvered shutters. There is a lunette in the gable at the left. The front door has a porch with a pediment. A one-story wing at the left has dormer windows and a pergola. Stone steps lead up between two urns, apparently with plants growing in them. Two small trees are in front of the house. Birds are in the sky.
NotesSubject Note: Helen Keller was born is Tuscumbia, Alabama in 1880. She lost both her sight and hearing at the age of 18 months and learned to communicate from her teacher, Annie Sullivan. Following Annie's death in 1936, Keller moved to Easton, CT, where she lived until her death in 1968. (Finlay 1/22/2004)Status
