DescriptionAn automobile on a snowy road approaches from the left background. A railroad overpass is behind it, with a large house and a dark hill beyond. The road, the railroad embankment, and the roof of the house are covered with snow, and snow clings to some of the evergreen trees in the background and to the branches of the small trees in the right foreground. Snow is drifted along a barbed wire fence that lines the road. Utility poles line the embankment. It is twilight and the sky is already dark.
NotesSubject Note: The location is in Litchfield County, probably in the Newtown area, where the Lewises lived. (Finlay 1/23/2004)
