DescriptionA National Defense Service medal (a), ribbon (b), and original box (c) awarded to Edward Rogalski.
(a) The front of the bronze medal features a bald eagle perched on a sword and palm with the inscription, "NATIONAL DEFENSE," above. The back of the bronze medal features a shield above a wreath of oak and laurel leaves. The medal hangs from a ribbon with a wide yellow stripe in the center, flanked by narrow stripes of red, white, blue, white, and wide red stripes.
(b) The ribbon has a wide yellow stripe in the center, flanked by narrow stripes of red, white, blue, white, and wide red stripes.
(c) The original blue cardboard box the medal was sent in. A white sticker affixed to the box features the text, "8455002695778 / CAGE-7H062 / 1 SET / MEDAL SET, UNITED NATIONS SERVICE, / REGULAR SIZE / SPM1C1-12-V-0357 / M-XX 10/12."
