DescriptionPainting by Joseph Steward of his youngest child, daughter Anna Jane Steward Payson. She is a young woman of about 20 years of age. She is wearing a long-sleeved white dress and a white ruff around her neck. In her right hand she is holding a white handkerchief. Her dark hair is pulled back, with a section in a small pouf in the front and several small sections of curled bangs framing her face.
