DescriptionFull-length figure of a woman standing on the shore of a lake or ocean. Her dress reflects the attributes of a fisherman. Her low-cut bodice has a sailor's collar but is trimmed with lace. Her overskirt appears to be composed of fishnet. She wears a striped petticoat and a broad fringed sash and a chain with an anchor hanging from it around her waist. Her jewelry includes a brooch and earrings. A cap with long ties is on the back of her head. Her left hand rests on her hip, and her right hand leans on an oar. There is a chevron pattern on the oar blade. A Gothic revival cottage with a dormer window, a chimney, and a picket fence is in the right background, surrounded by trees. A rowboat is on the beach in the left background.
