DescriptionMan's blue wool jacket with a 1907 pocket patch for Yale University. The single-breasted front closure has three pearlized buttons on the proper right, with corresponding keyhole buttonholes on the proper left. Notched collar. The coat is constructed with a center back seam with no vent, side back seams, and a dart under each arm. The sleeves are made from upper and lower shaped pieces, with no cuff. The entire outer edge and hem is trimmed with white piping. This piping is also used around each of the three patch pockets on the front. There are two large pockets, one on each hip, and a smaller pocket on the left front breast. This small pocket has the patch for Yale University with a "Lux et Veritas" patch beneath and the year "1907" embroidered above. All the seams are finished with black tape, probably rayon or polyester. The jacket is unlined. There is a length of blue tape stitched to the center back at the neck.
